Download Pipo S1 RileyROM 1.2.1 custom firmware


Download Pipo S1 RileyROM 1.2.1 custom firmware from here, here or here. Here you'll find 36 Pipo Smart S1 firmwares gathered on one place.


This ROM is based on firmware designed for Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 7" aka Pipo S1 4.2.2 FW. The firmware is dated 2/11/2014. This firmware was designed to unlock the CPU speed of the tablet.

Included in this ROM are the following RileyROM features:
Rooted with SuperSU
Debloated of all unnecessary apps

CyanogenMod 11.0 Android KitKat 4.4.2 for Pipo S1


Beware, this is not tested yet; we've got a tip from one of our readers, so be carefully. Please provide feedback and let us know if it's working.

Download CyanogenMod 11.0 Android KitKat 4.4.2 for Pipo S1 from here, here or here.

Version details
- CyanogenMod 11.0 Android KitKat 4.4.2
- 3.0.36 kernel
- rooted, with superuser settings built into the ROM
- sharing internet via wifi, bluetooth and usb cable
- WiFi DirectDisplay enabled 

Install instructions
- First install TWRP recovery 2.7.0.0 for RK30 board. Download it from here and install it according to instructions provided.
- Start the tablet in recovery mode, do wipes and then install the ROM and then gapps from SD card. 


Be careful, you do it on your own risk!

Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 7' 4.2.2 firmware 1.2b revision February 2014



First you have to download the Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 7' 4.2.2 firmware 1.2b revision from here, here or from here. Next, download the Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7 from here.

Now put the Pipo S1 tablet into 'firmware update mode', run the Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7, select the update.img file and press 'Restore' button. Wait for 4-5 minutes and that's it. First boot takes longer, about 5 minutes, so please be patient.

Build details:
 

- Fixes the CPU Speed, so it runs at 1.6ghz
- Android Jelly bean 4.2.2
- Kernel 3.0.36+

- WiFi, camera and G sensor work just fine;
- Languages: all 

- preinstalled gapps
- not rooted 

- over 14.000 points in Antutu Benchmark.
- HDMI is working perfectly 
- Build number: rk30sdk-eng 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.root20140211.123608 test-keys


The easiest way to root this firmware version and to install CWM 6.0.31
Please watch the second video for details.

1. Install the driver for the tablet. In my case, I have Windows 8 x64 bit, I had to follow this video tutorial. Better download Rockusb drivers v.3.5 from this post.
2. From settings enable USB Debuggibg on your Pipo S1 tablet. Download and install Moborobo or PdaNet from here. Run one of these apps to make sure that your tablet diver is correctly installed.
3. Run UnlockRoot Pro v.3.36 and press 'Root' button. It will ask to root it againg and choose 'yes' option. Finally the tablet will reboot and you're done. Now you have root acces. Or simply root using this video tutorial.
4. To install the CWM 6.0.2.7 please follow the update steps from this post. Then download CWM 6.0.3.1 from here or from here and copy it as it is on a micro SD card, install Quick Boot free from Play store, reboot into recovery, then choose 'install zip from sd card' and apply the new CWM zip file from your card. Enjoy CWM 6.0.3.1 on your tablet!


BTW, don't forget to calibrate your battery using this tutorial.

HDMI Fix for Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 7' Android 4.2.2 firmware



Download HDMI settings_fix.zip from here, here or here. Don't extract it; just copy it on a micro SD card and install the file from CWM. Install CWM 6.0.31 using this tutorial or take a look here.

Crew RKTablets Genio CM10.1 v1.3.3 firmware installed on Pipo S1 tablet





1. Backup your data.
2. Download the CM10.1 archive from here, here or here; extract 'PipoS1_CM10.1_v1.3.3.rar'. Copy 'Oma RK30 CM10.1 Format NAND.zip' file to a microSD card.
3. Hard-off the tablet by long pressing the power button (4+ seconds). Insert microSD card. Hold down the VOL- button while inserting microUSB cable to enter download mode
4. Start the 'RKAndroidTool.exe' found in the 'RKDevelopTool_v1.35' folder (right-click, run as administrator). NOTE: The tool should say 'Found RKAndroid Loader Rock Usb'. Hit 'EraseIDB' and wait for success (Clears partition table) and then hit 'Run' once. INFO: Run OK', Pipo S1 will boot into recovery --> **RECOVERY SHOULD BE v6.0.3.1**
5. Wipe cache, Wipe data/factory reset, Install zip from external card 'Oma RK30 CM10.1 Format NAND.zip' and reboot. Wait 5 minutes.
6. Once the tablet starts, select your prefered launcher, hit 'immer' (always).
7. Set the language to English: Hit the setting icon, 'Systemeinstellungen', Scroll down to 'Sprache & Einabe', Set 'Sprache' to your desired language.
8. Fix landscape menu buttons not appearing. Go to play store, sign in. Install Textdroider DPI from play store. Set DPI to 120. Apply. Reboot. HINT: to use back & navigate button use the tablet in portrait mode.
9. Optional: If you want back the tablet interface with bottom notification bar then download TabletUI fix v1.3.2 and install it from microSD card via CWM.

 Hints:
- enable development options > tap 5 times on build number
- higher performance > disable animation scales in developer options
- control Play-Store > disable auto-updates
- battery drain > set keep wi-fi on during sleep to never
- full access to the build > enable /system rw in File Manager HD
- load kernel modules > enable init.d ON in Pimp my Rom (reboot)
- don't show su notifications > disable in Superuser

Unresolved Issues:
- Wifi takes a few seconds to connect from sleep
- camera is upside down
- display artifacts on screen rotation

Troubleshooting:
Problem: If you get stuck with installs the loop you back to recovery constantly, you probably have CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.5. This recovery does not work with the original Pipo S1 kernel.
Solution: Use recovery 6.0.3.1 with kernel RK3-_kernel_308_s1_pipo

Problem: You find yourself stuck in recovery with no way to power off
Solution: Select a menu item, highlight ++++Go Back++++, when you press the power button, do not let go until tablet powers off.

Crew RKTablets Genio CM10.1 v1.3 firmware installed on Pipo S1 tablet




1. Backup your data.
2. Download the CM10.1 archive from here, here or here; (uploading) extract 'PipoS1_CM10.1_v1.3.2.rar'. Copy 'Oma RK30 CM10.1 Format NAND.zip' file to a microSD card.
3. Hard-off the tablet by long pressing the power button (4+ seconds). Insert microSD card. Hold down the VOL- button while inserting microUSB cable to enter download mode

Pipo S1 Pro English 4.2.2 custom firmware

Here is the easiest to do this firmware update:
1. Download Pipo S1 Pro English firmware image from: link1 or link2. [Update] You can download the rooted version from here or from here. (thanks to
Cripple Guy)
2. Put your Pipo S1 Pro tablet in 'firmware update mode'.
3. Run Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7, select the proper image .img file from your desktop, and after your device is found by the program, press the 'Restore' button and wait for 2-3 minutes to finish. The first boot is very long, wait about 5-7 minutes.

Brief Description: 
- Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2
- Based off of stock firmware 20130702
- Fixed Build.prop for better market access (GT-i9300) (the i9300 is the Exynos Quad based SIII)
- Removed Chinese Apps
- Firmware is in English by default

All you need:

  • RockUSB Drivers - Included at Rockchip Batch Tool
  • Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 4.2 ROM (Rooted by Kasty)- Download Here
  • Root Explorer (Any)
  • Cyclone Voyager Patch v1 by AlmoSTacey - Download Here
  • A Windows PC (Windows 7 Recommended)
  • A Brain and Patience
  • Nova Launcher (Prime or Free - Download it at Play Store)

Steps to follow
1.) Download the attatch buildv1.prop.
2.) Copy buildv1.prop to root folder not to system folder
3.) Rename buildv1.prop to build.prop
4.) Change the permission of build.prop to RW-R-R
5.) Copy the build.prop with the permission of RW-R-R
6.) Now go to system folder and change the permission of the system folder to RW.
7.) Paste the build.prop and overwrite it and reboot....

Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 7" rooted Android 4.2.2 by Kasty firmware installed on Pipo S1 tablet

Here is the easiest to do this firmware update:
1. Download rooted Android 4.2.2 by Kasty firmware from: link1 or link2.
2. Put your Pipo S1 in 'firmware update mode'.
3. Run Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7, select the proper image .img file from your desktop, and after your device is found by the program, press the 'Restore' button and wait for 2-3 minutes to finish. The first boot is very long, wait about 5-7 minutes.


Custom firmware features:

  • root with latest SuperSU version 1.51 (free version)
  • removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
  • Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible
  • updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
  • Unix like init.d boot scripts support
  • changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access
  • increased space for applications (/data partition) to 2 GB
  • 11.500 points in Antutu Benchmark

Vplay, the best Android application for streaming online HD TV Series




Watch your favorite TV series directly on your tablet Pipo S1. You need to create a free account on http://vplay.ro to use mobile application. Categories of TV Series and seasons are listed in the left side menu. To access the on-screen slide from left to right or click on the application icon in the upper left. To use subtitles is recommended to use MX Player application, or any other player that can open subtitles of storage space. To open subtitles MX Player should automatically set to the same folder in which subtitles Subtitles. 
See the video to see the exact steps to open subtitles automatically.
1. Vplay Settings -> tick and Open subtitles Download subtitles automatically, and set a folder where to be downloaded subtitles
2. MX Player Settings -> Subtitle -> to be checked Enable subtitles and subtitle folder be set to the same folder as the Vplay

Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 7' 4.2.2 firmware installed on Pipo S1 tablet. Best firmware till now!



First you have to download the Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 7' 4.2.2 firmware from here or from here. Next download the Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7 from here.

Now put the Pipo S1 tablet into 'firmware update mode', run the Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7, select the update-733-2013-7-10-ËóŢ˙--źŢ--4.2.img file and press 'Restore' button. Wait for 4-5 minutes and that's it. First boot takes longer, about 5 minutes, so please be patient.
