Geniatech released a new firmware 20140718 to online upgrade server for Quad Core Box (ATV581, ATV582, ATV1800). If your box is working with current last released 20140529 firmware, once connected to the network, it will pop up a message to remind to update.

Do not need unzip, rename to update_M8_20140718.img and copy to USB disk or SD/Micro SD card, insert the storage to the box, run Upgrade app, select local update option and find the file to upgrade.

Geniatech Quad Core Box 20140529 Firmware Update

Here is the new firmware for Geniatech Quad Core Box, such as ATV581, ATV582, ATV1800. If you want to update, please download it from here, here or here and unzip GeniatechQuadCoreBox20140529FirmwareUpdate.zip file. Then, update the box follow the instruction inside.
 

Note: This firmware can not update on Geniatech Quad Core Dongle ATV181.

Change log
1.Modified the light status as below:
Yellow LED(Network Status), Blue LED(Working Mode), Red LED(Standby Mode)
2. 1080P output, fixed HDMI and CVBS dynamic switched problem. Default is CVBS output if no HDMI connected.
3. Enhance the speed of flash.
4. Fixed multiple characters problem of remote control.
5. Fixed several buttons can not work on remote control.
6. Fixed crash/stop problem when playing some special videos for a long time.
7. Supports H.265 video playback via hardware decoding.
8. Pre-installed XBMC app which supports hardware decoding.
9. Fixed other bugs.


How to update the firmware

2. Use sharp object to press the Upgrade/Reset button, keep holding and plug in power adapter, after about 10 seconds, untill see flash LED, then, loosen the button. It will update automatically.

3. After finished, the box will restart and enter into system.
